Katie Turnbull

Katie Turnbull works with video, ceramics, installation and interactivity, including app development. Katie's work explores the human gaze and implications of our presence through the history of the moving image, psychology, computing and data. Additionally, she has an interest in collaboration and inter-disciplinary approaches, specifically the intersection of science and art.
Katie’s work has been exhibited at Focal Point Gallery, Coventry Cathedral, Outpost and Allenshead Contemprary Art in the UK, Galleries UNSW, Firstdraft, Seventh Gallery, Penrith Regional Gallery, Dubbo Regional Art Gallery, MAMA Albury, RMIT Gallery and the Powerhouse Museum in Australia. Katie has also exhibited internationally in Iceland, USA and Thailand and has been commissioned by Experimenta and Penrith Regional Gallery, Australia.

Since 1992, the Australia Council for the Arts has partnered with Acme to provide London work/live residency opportunities for Australian visual artists. These residencies are located at Acme's Fire Station in Poplar, E14. Application and selection is undertaken directly by the Australia Council for the Arts.
