Emile Barret
The Swiss Federal Office of Culture Residency
2014
Emile Barret is a French photographer whose works attempt to confront viewers with their own knowledge by questioning systems of learning. Working with film, Emile predominantly uses large format images as a concentrated form, in which analogies unfold and references mingle.
Emile received a diploma in photography from Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL) in 2012. Emile was selected for the Photoforum Pasquart at Biel, Switzerland (2013) and in the same year, received the Public Prize at the 28th Hyères Fashion & Photography International Festival. Emile’s work has been exhibited widely, in Milan, Paris, Lausanne, Shanghai and Belgium.
